not faze Catherine Thomas, founder and president of Kinetix Technology. After 15 years
in this business, she knows one thing is certain: the key to success is timely,
focused, and personalized service and support. And that’s exactly what Kinetix offers.
Prior to launching Kinetix, Catherine was Vice President for Alliance Consulting’s
Washington DC market in the Commercial, Manufacturing and Distribution Sector. For
the DC market, she oversaw sales, operational and P & L management, and led the
restructuring and redefinition of Alliance’s go-to-market strategy and execution.
She joined Alliance after several successful years as General Manager and Vice President
of Enthusian Corporation, a Spherion/Accenture joint venture providing Web-based solutions
and managed services for human capital supply chain management. In this role, she was
responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the business development and
marketing organizations with an emphasis on strategic business development initiatives.
Catherine has also served as Vice President of Spherion Technology, a $300 million IT
consulting company where she managed significant operations in the U.S. and UK. and was
responsible for the management of Spherion's largest client, IBM. Prior to joining Spherion
Technology, Catherine held various sales and leadership positions with a particular focus
in establishing and developing new markets.
In addition to holding a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of
Richmond, Virginia, Catherine has completed extensive post-graduate training including
Harvard/MIT’s senior executive program.

Angela Berkman, Vice President, Recruiting & Operations
A seasoned industry expert, Angela has over 13 years of recruitment and management
experience in the Washington, DC Metro area. She most recently worked for Alliance
Consulting helping to develop a significant presence in the DC Marketplace. Angela
has built recruiting organizations, set up recruiting processes and procedures and
hired, trained and managed recruiting teams.
Angela’s experience includes full life-cycle recruiting for both large corporations
such as Unisys and Bell Atlantic, as well as small start-up organizations. She is a
specialist in the Information Technology industry and has successfully recruited and
placed thousands of contract and direct professionals including Software Engineers,
Analysts, Architects, Project Managers, Network Engineers and Senior Technical Managers.

Alan Simon, Senior Director, Business Intelligence
Alan Simon is a
recognized authority on the subjects of business intelligence, data warehousing, and
enterprise-scale information management. He has held global or national VP-level
positions as a consulting practice lead with several firms in the past decade including
Business Objects, Alliance Consulting, and Cambridge Technology Partners. He was also a
member of the global data warehousing leadership team at Deloitte Consulting where he
specialized in applying next-generation architectural principles and technologies to
business intelligence environments. He is the author of 27 books, including Data
Warehousing for Dummies, 90 Days to the Data Mart, How to be a Successful Computer
Consultant, and Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence for E-Commerce. He regularly
speaks at conferences, seminars and private client events and is known for his engaging
and thought-provoking perspectives on the technology disciplines in which he specializes.
Alan holds a Master’s Degree in Management Information Systems from the University of
Arizona and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems from Arizona State
University, and pursued post-graduate study in artificial intelligence and medical
information systems at the University of Denver.
